CHARACTER OF TEKKEN 6

www.tekkenzaibatsu.com

DEVIL JIN
* New move, f,f+3,1,b+1+2 (3rd hit is a mid punch). Zekusu doesn’t have any ideas on how to use the move yet.
* New move, b+3, seems useless right now.
* d/f+1+2 was changed to a double punch attack, the 2nd hit options were taken out.
* The laser throw recovers slower now. No guaranteed follow up afterwards.
* After hellsweep hits up close ONLY, 1+4 can connect, but it won’t if you do dash 1+4.
* 1+4 move animation has changed. Frame properties have changed as well.
* Combo damage has been toned down.
* d/f+1,2~f,f, hellsweep ender for juggles is no longer possible.
* Recovery off d/f+1,2 is slower now. The cancel doesn’t seem to be there anymore.
* If you play Devil Jin like you played him in DR, overall he is much weaker
* d/f+2 animation has changed.

ZAFINA
* d/f+2 is a high crush.

HEIHACHI MISHIMA
* d/f+1,2 (twin pistons) has been removed. Instead the new move is d/f+1 into a new second hit. It no longer launches, it’s more like a hammer fist move that causes knockdown.
* New move similar to Kazuya’s d/f+3, causes unbreakable stun on CH.
* Heihachi has a new low move.
* EWGF, f,f+2, d+1 and hellsweep seem to be the same.

KAZUYA MISHIMA
* Kazuya seems to be the strongest of the Mishimas now.
* Kazuya has a new string, 1,2,4,3. The last kick is mid.
* New move, d/f+3,1
* New move, b+1+2 which is similar to Heihachi’s b+2. Does not stun on CH.
* New mid, mid string. b+1,2.

JIN KAZAMA

* From the limited play time with Jin, there doesn’t seem to be any noticeable changes with his game play.

ASUKA KAZAMA

* Asuka’s old f,f+2 from T5DR is now done by inputting SS+2.
* Her new f,f+2 is the 2nd hit from d/f+1,2 string in DR. On counter hit it shifts into the auto throw.
* New string, 2,1,1+2. The last hit throws the opponent down and can be cancelled.
* Asuka can now do the last kick of b+2,1+2,4 as a normal move.
* Most of her animation is the same as T5DR.

MARSHALL LAW

* Law has a new low, high string. His right foot kicks the opponent on their shin, the left leg then throws out a high kick. This move is from the final fight in Bruce Lee’s “Way of the Dragon” (Also called “Return of the Dragon”.
* Law had a new costume that was similar to the one where Bruce Lee fought Sammo Hung in “Game of Death.”
* His item move is done with the nunchaku. The animation is similar to Maxi’s movement in Soul Calibur.
* You can use Law’s item move infinitely. When you do the move Law takes out the nunchuaku to do the hit attack then hides it afterwards.
* Law’s movement/animation has changed and is more like Maxi’s movement from Soul Calibur.
* DSS/DFS seems to be the same as T5DR.
* The animation for b+1,2,1 is different.
* Many of the other moves have different animations as well.
* New Move, d+4,3 is natural combo that does little damage. d+4 no longer crushes highs.
* New Move, DSS(Dragon Stance Sign) 1+2, it looks like a faster version of f+2~1 one inch punch. Shorter range.
* New Move, 3+4. Mid double kick attack that looks like the last hit of Anna’s u/f+1,3,3+4 string. Good range and crushes lows.
* New Move, WS+1,2 new WS punisher, hits mid, high and may be natural combo.
* New Move, d+2,3, the old move was changed into a low right punch into a knee strike. It launches on CH only.
* 4 is now a different kick, f+4 is more like the standing 4 of T5DR. CH f+4, b+2,3,4, DSS 3 still hits.
* d/f+2 range is shorter(this seems to be the case with all characters that have generic d/f+2).
* SSR 3+4, d/b+3, f+1+2 all combos together on the ground.
* f,f+2,1,3 range has been reduced on the initial strike.
* B+4 transitions Law into BT stance now, b+4 makes him face forward.
* U/F+4 flipkick can now transition to DFS>SS. By going into stance the flipkick recovers faster. This new transition enables more juggle possibilites.

RAVEN

* New move. FC 1+2, Raven vanishes for a short period of time. During the move you can input 4 and his d/f+3+4 from T5DR comes out. Inputting 2 during the move will give you his old d/f+1+2 from T5DR.
* The command of d/f+1+2 and d/f+3+4 are no longer there.

STEVE FOX

* Steve has a new stance. It’s the “peek a boo” stance done by inputting f+3+4 or 3+4, f+3+4. The motion is similar to the main character’s fighting style in Hajime No Ippo.
* From the “peek a boo” stance, you can use a 1 or 2 punch. His 1+3 throw from the stance is 6-8 punches. If the throw whiffs, you recover back in “peek a boo” stance.
* According to Namco staff, you are stationary during the stance and can’t do any movement.
* d/f+2 launches on counter hit only.
* b+1 range is longer. It is now easier to connect combos on counter hit.
* f,b+1,1,2,1 is either removed from the game or has a completely new notation.
* Animation on the third hit of 1,1,2 has been altered.
* f,f,N+2 in T5DR has changed it’s input back to f,f+2(like in Tekken 4). The T5DR f,f+2 was either removed or has a new notation.
* d/f+1+2 sonic fang pushes back less on guard, compared to T5DR.

BAEK DOO SAN

* New move. SS+3+4 which launches on hit.
* Animation on WS+4 strings were changed slightly.
* According to Namco staff, Baek has fewer animation changes than most characters because his animations were already redone in T5DR.

HWOARANG

* New move. f,N,d,d/f+3. Mid kick, with long range.
* LFS 3,3, strings/cancels were removed.
* New moves in LFS. One long rage move and another move that tracks to the left side.
* f,N,d/f+4 Talon Sky Rocket(Just Frame Sky Rocket) is now more difficult to do than T5DR.
* WS+4,4 range has been increased.

LEE CHAOLAN

- The third hit options after f,N+3,4 are now gone.
- The last part of 4,3,4 is either impossible or very hard to do as a wall ender now.
- T6 Lee looks older

RAVEN

* f+2 in T5DR is now f,f+2 in T6.
* QCF+2(hold 2) now cancels the move and goes into BT.
* Another guy posted that 3+4 makes Raven vanish(not FC 1+2). New move may have tech crouch status.

BRUCE IRVIN

* d/f+4 has new options. After d/f+4 you can link it to a new low kick, left mid hook, or a left high punch into knee strike.
* The T5DR d/f+1,2 either has a new notation or has been removed.
* When you do d/f+1 in Tekken 6 you get the T5DR move d/f+1+2.
* d/f+1 into the high punch is still in. There is also a mid punch option. The low kick option was taken out.
* WS+2,1 and b+2 seem to have the same properties.
* New move. f,f+3 is a different type of mid spin-kick.
* New move. 2,1,1+2, on hit throws the opponent down. Third hit of the string can be cancelled.
* f+3 on CH is a different stun now, it can be broken. f+3 links into a high punch option.
* 1,2,3 is now gone.
* 1,2,d+4 is still in.
* The animation of f+2 has changed, f+2,3 second hit does the SS+3 kick from T5DR.

PAUL PHOENIX

* New move, d/f+3,4. Similar to Hwoarang’s d/f+3,4.
* New Move, QCF+3 is a new low kick move that knocks down on CH. f,f+4 may be guaranteed after it hits on CH.
* New Move, b+1+2. b,b+1+2 is the new notation for the b+1+2 unblockable in T5DR.
* Phoenix Smasher(aka death fist) no longer pushes back like in previous games.
* New Move, QCF+1+2 is a new low move that is quicker/more useful than the T5DR QCF+1+2.

LEI WULONG

* New move, d/f+1,1,1 string.
* d+3+4 animation has changed.
* New Move, b+4,1 which is a low, high natural combo string. It is about 23 frames impact and the second hit causes knockdown and wallstun. When the first hit is blocked the second hit can not be interrupted by an 11 frame WS move. The string can be delayed. On block the move seems to be around -14. The move feels similar to Julia’s FC d/f+4,3 only except you do it from a standing position.
* New Move, d/f+1,1,1 is an all mid string. The first two hits are natural combo. The second and last hits in the string can be delayed.
* New Move, 2,1 is a new high,mid string that hits as natural combo. 2,1~F transitions Lei into DRU(Drunken) stance.
* New Move, d+2 is a mid strike that forces the opponent to crouching state when blocked. On CH it knocks down the enemy into SLD position.
* New Move, d+4,4 which is a low to a mid kick. Not natural combo and cannot be delayed. d+4,4~F transitions Lei into DRU stance. Lei can still d+4~D_U to go into SNK(Snake).
* New Move, BT b+1,1 high, mid string that leaves you in BT after performing the move. Lei is at a huge disadvantage after the move is blocked.
* New Move, SNK 1,2,1,2 string. The first three hits are natural combo. The last hit of the string is high. After the second or last hit of the string Lei stays in SNK stance.
* New Move, DRA(Dragon) 3 is a new low. It does not knock down on hit. The animation is similar to Xiaoyu’s AOP f+4. Lei recovers crouching after he performs the move. If you input DRA 3* (hold 3) Lei transitions into CRN(Crane). Does not have crush properties.
* New Move, TGR (Tiger) 3 is a new mid kick that crushes lows. Causes knockdown on hit.
* New Move, DRU b+1+2 is a lunging, spinning headbutt like Jackie Chan does in Drunken Master II. Recovers in SLD position.
* New Move, DRU 1 throw. The range and active frame of this throw has been increased. There are now two chances where the move will transition into the throw. Near wall, WS+3 is guaranteed. The throw break window seems to have gotten smaller.
* DRU d+3+4 and d+1+2 laying down is possible now. It is also possible for Lei to transition into other grounded positions other than PLD and SLD but the notation has not been found yet.

YOSHIMITSU

* Pogo stance ~f and f,f animation has changed.
* After f+3+4 hits Yoshi can enter helicopter stance by doing f+3+4~U.
* It seems Yoshimitsu’s juggles are a bit harder to do.
* Old d/f+1 series has been removed or has different notation.
* Yoshimitsu has a new stance/transition.

FENG WEI

* b+3+4 has been changed, it no longer goes to kenpo step parry. It’s now a low kick.
* b+3 kick from b+3,1 string can now be cancelled into BT by doing b+3~B.
* New move, BT 2+3. Feng now has a throw which he can do while in back turned state.

ANNA WILLIAMS

* WS+2 is now punishbale.
* The hit box for her u/b+3 kick is now smaller.
* The mixup between her FC d/f+2 and WS+2 is now much weaker against sidestep.

NINA WILLIAMS

* New multi throw starter and branches.
* New move, low swipe with her arm. On CH it shifts into another move.
* WS+1,2 has been removed.
* New Move, WS+1,1+2. When WS+1 hits, the followup is guaranteed

BRYAN FURY

* New Move, 3 hit string that is about 14 frames in speed. Natural combo and KND on normal hit. Also causes wallstun. Safe on block.
* Frame advantage when WS+3 hits has been reduced.
